Giftee Malaysia extends eGift system to Salad Atelier to provide the gift of healthy eating

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 19 January 2022 GIFTEE MALAYSIA SDN. BHD., a Malaysian subsidiary of Japan-based giftee, Inc., announced today their collaboration with Salad Atelier. Founded in 2014, Salad Atelier is a local whole foods and salad bar chain with a total of 14 outlets located in Klang Valley that also provides staff meals and buffets to multiple corporate offices in the CBD.

With this collaboration, Salad Atelier has implemented Giftee Malaysia’s eGift System to its 12 outlets since December 2021. The eGift System is an eGift sales system that simplifies all technical aspects of eGifts, from the issuance to delivery, while catering to the business specific needs. The eGift System also enables Salad Atelier to generate and distribute eGift vouchers with minimal staff training and is fuss-free for retailers.

The Salad Atelier eGift vouchers will be available for purchase via Giftee Malaysia’s “giftee for Business” solution. This service enables companies to send eGifts to customers as campaign gifts such as a reward for completing a survey. Giftee Malaysia currently works with more than 100 companies, across banking, consumer electronics, insurance and internet industries, such as Maybank, Prudential, Samsung, to help with their marketing and promotion activities with their e-vouchers and promotion solutions.

Additionally, Salad Atelier’s eGifts will be included in Giftee Malaysia’s giftee Box. giftee Box is a feature of their "giftee for Business" service. giftee Box recipients will be able to select from a line-up of about 150 types of items from about 40 brands in Malaysia, with Salad Atelier being the latest addition.

“For us at Salad Atelier, we believe that real food is ‘delicious medicine’ as it is an everyday source of nutrition. Since COVID-19, we noticed Malaysians are becoming more health-conscious and we wanted to make it easier for Malaysians to receive the gift of healthy eating,” shared Dylan Lee, CEO of Salad Atelier. “We chose to partner Giftee Malaysia because of their extensive experience working with F&B brands and we are excited to be able to introduce e-gifts as part of our digital transformation.”

Malaysia as a growing market for the digital casual gift industry

Malaysia’s market size for the gifting industry is estimated at US$1 billion to US$3 billion (RM 4.2 billion to RM 12.6 billion). With factors such as Malaysia’s dynamic growth in GDP, high smart devices penetration rate, greater digital transformation and a shift in consumer behaviours arising from COVID-19, this creates fertile conditions for digital gifting to thrive. The Malaysian e-gift industry is expected to record a compound annual growth rate of 26.4% from 2020 to 2024 and is predicted to reach US$787.6 million by 2024.

Ryo Okubo, Chief Operating Officer of Giftee Malaysia, said “Looking back at the results for the financial year so far, we have seen a lot more traction from both companies wanting to distribute eGifts as well as greater customer demand for eGifts. We’ve noticed that many Malaysian companies do want to digitalise their gifting services as part of their digitalisation roadmap and move away from paper distribution, but do not know how to go about doing so. As an early-mover in the digital gifting industry in Malaysia, Giftee Malaysia is proud to help local businesses smoothen their transition, respond to new consumer behaviours and capture a year-round gifting opportunity.”
